The atmosphere at the Breckenridge Police Department has a decidedly downcast tone to it lately as the friendly office cat, known as Tammy, has been missing for more than a week.

Tammy was last seen on Sunday, Feb. 2, when she was let out, like she was several times a day. Usually, Tammy came back in in a timely manner.

She is a gray-striped and white cat and was wearing a purple collar with a vet tag and a blue police badge. The flyer that’s been posted for her describes Tammy as “super friendly, loves to play, nap and hide in boxes.”

Tammy usually stays close to the police station, but BPD employees are worried that she may have followed someone home or gotten into someone’s vehicle. She has a Facebook page under the name “Tammy Cat.”

If you know where Tammy is or have seen her, take her to the police department at the Stephens County Law Enforcement Center, 210 E. Dyer, or call the BPD’s non-emergency number at 254-559-2211. Someone from the police department will be happy to pick her up from wherever she is. There is a reward for her return.
