December 27
- The Sheriff’s Office contacted a 25-year-old wanted female at a residence on County Road 262. She was arrested for the following two warrants: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and No Vehicle Insurance.
- A deputy transported a male from Villa Haven Nursing Home to Ocean’s Behavioral Hospital under an emergency detention order. This was due to the male being a threat to himself and others.
December 30
- A deputy traveled to Garza County Juvenile Detention Center to obtain a Stephens County juvenile in order to bring him back for court here locally.
December 31
- Deputies responded to an aggressive dog call on CR 308. While contacting the 25-year-old owner of the dog, it was discovered that he was wanted. He was arrested for a Disregard Red Light warrant.
January 1
- The Sheriff’s Office contacted a suspicious person in the 100 block of East Seventh Street. A drug investigation ensued. A 39- year-old male was arrested for the third degree felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone due to him possessing methamphetamine.
January 3
- A deputy traveled to Taylor County Jail to arrest a 33-year-old female for a warrant related to Possession of a Controlled Substance. She was transported back to Stephens County Jail.
- The Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on CR 314 for a disturbance. The parties were separated, and a citation for Class C Misdemeanor assault was issued to one of the parties.
Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, traffic accidents/hazards, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, and some types of proactive calls.
