Friends of Historic Breckenridge will once again host the Missoula Children’s Theater for a week-long theater camp June 17-22 at the National Theatre. This year’s production will be The Snow Queen.

The theater camp will be open to kids in kindergarten through the 12th grade, and the cost will be $50 per child. An information/registration packet can be downloaded from the FOHB website (friendsofhistoricbreckenridge.com/events) or picked up at the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce, 100 E. Elm St. The organization asks that those who plan to participate complete and mail in the registration form and payment before the audition day; although, registration forms and payments will be accepted the morning of June 17.

Auditions for parts in the production will take place beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 17, at the National Theatre, 116 E. Walker St. Practices will be held throughout the week, with each cast member having specific times they need to be at practice, depending on the part they receive.

Throughout the camp, the kids will need to bring a sack lunch and drink if they are scheduled to attend the afternoon practice sessions.

The two performances of The Snow Queen will take place at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22.

The Missoula Children’s Theater is based in Missoula, Montana, and takes their programs to all 50 United States, as well as five Canadian provinces and 16 countries. Last year, Breckenridge’s Missoula theater camp presented an adaptation of “Gulliver’s Travels” with a sci-fi twist; click here to see the Breckenridge Texan’s article about last year’s production.
