Area man dies in one-vehicle wreck in Stephens County
A Graham man was killed in a one-vehicle rollover accident on FM 2231 near County Road 270 in Stephens County this weekend.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. David Foster, Brandon Davis, age 30, of Graham was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup westbound on FM 2231 when he wasn’t able to negotiate a curve in the road. Davis was the only occupant in the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt; he was ejected from the truck, Foster said.
A local citizen who works for an oil company was making their rounds when they discovered the wreck at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday, March 17, Stephens County Sheriff Will Holt said. Sacred Cross EMS, the Breckenridge Fire Department, the Breckenridge Police Department and the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the DPS, responded to the scene. The incident was investigated by DPS Trooper Robert McGrath.
It’s possible the wreck happened late Saturday night or very early Sunday morning, Foster said.
The accident is still under investigation, and the DPS will have the final findings after they get the lab results.
