January 28

  • A theft of service report was made against a known suspect for stealing that occurred on a property on State Highway 67.

January 29

  • A deputy served two felony arrest warrants on a 57-year-old male. The warrants were related to past charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Drugs).

January 31

  • A deputy served an arrest warrant on a 27-year-old male at the 90th District Courtroom in the courthouse. The warrant was related to a charge of Assault Family Violence with Previous Conviction.

February 2

  • A deputy served four felony warrants on a 43-year-old male at his residence in the 800 block of West Williams Street. Three warrants were motions to revoke probation related to past drug charges out of Stephens County, and one warrant was for possession of drugs out of Eastland County.
  • A deputy arrested a 39-year-old female at the probation office in the courthouse for a Motion to Adjudicate warrant related to a past charge of Possession of Dangerous Drugs.

February 3

  • A resident at a house in the 1500 block of East Elm requested that we issue a Criminal Trespass Warning to a 58-year-old male. The CTW was issued.
  • The above 58-year-old male requested that we issue a CTW against a 53-year-old male for a residence in the 400 block of South Miller Avenue.

February 5

  • A theft was reported from a property in the 2700 block of Highway 180 East. A water pump was stolen at some time over the last several days.

February 6

  • The Sheriff’s Office transported a 25-year-old male from the Eastland County Jail to the Stephens County Jail. The male was served with a Motion to Adjudicate warrant related to a past charge of Possession of Methamphetamine.
  • Deputies took turns making two round trips to Abilene to transport a local minor from a juvenile delinquent facility back to Stephens County for a hearing. After the hearing, the minor was taken back to Abilene, where he continues to be housed

February 7

  • Deputies took turns making two round trips to Denison to transport a local minor from a juvenile delinquent facility back to Stephens County for a hearing. After the hearing, the minor was taken back to Denison, where he continues to be housed.
  • The Sheriff’s Office transported a female prisoner from a Texas Department of Criminal Justice unit near Dayton back to Stephens County for an upcoming hearing.
  • The Sheriff attended a planning meeting with the Breckenridge Industrial Foundation to implement the Crime Stoppers program here locally.
  • The Sheriff attended a fundraiser for Dr. Goodall’s House, which is our local non-profit organization that provides numerous services to children who have been abused.

Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, non-emergency calls, registering sex offenders, traffic accidents/hazards, transporting prisoners and juveniles in and out of the county, mental hospital transports, court security, and some types of proactive calls.
