Three members of the Stephens County Jail staff were promoted to sergeant and sworn in by Sheriff Will Holt on Monday night, Jan. 7.  Drew Boggs, Malcolm Bufkin Jr. and Samantha Pedroza, who were already employed as jail staff, were all sworn in as shift sergeants during the ceremony.

As a shift sergeant, they are each responsible for supervising a team of jail staff during one of the 12-hour shifts at the jail. Holt said they are currently assessing individuals for a fourth sergeant position.

According to Holt, the jail is 100 percent staffed with 13 jailers.
