Boil water notice rescinded for City of Breckenridge

Boil water notice rescinded for City of Breckenridge
November 08
11:52 2018

Effective immediately,  Thursday, Nov. 8, the City of Breckenridge has canceled the boil water notice issued earlier this week.

The notice affected all water customers within the Breckenridge city limits and was issued on Tuesday, Nov. 6. The problem was caused by valve leaks in the area of the Parks Street construction project.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Breckenridge to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform water customers that due to current interruption in service, water from the  system needed to be boiled prior to consumption. The necessary corrective actions was taken to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality, and the City has provided TCEQ with testing results indicating that the water no longer requires boiling.

For more information, call the City Offices at 254-559-8287 or the Water Office at 254-559- 7249.
