In a special-called meeting this morning, Nov. 6, the Stephens County Commissioners voted to rescind the appointment of Mary O’Dell as County Treasurer and, after conducting interviews, voted to appoint Kelsey Cornwall to the position.
The appointment made on Oct. 30 violates the Texas nepotism law.
The new Stephens County Animal Policy, which also bans the feeding of feral cats at the courthouse, goes into effect Monday, Oct. 23, 2023.
