A clog at the City of Breckenridge’s wastewater treatment plant has led to a discharge of partially treated sewage into Gunsolus Creek just north of Breckenridge.
For the second time in the past week, the City of Breckenridge has issued a public notice regarding the overflow of sewage in the city, and this time there are several overflow locations throughout the city.
According to a public notice issued by Breckenridge City Manager Cynthia Northop at about 9 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, June 4, “a Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) has occurred caused by Inflow and Infiltration and an inability to keep up with the Flow at Lift Station #1.”
