It was a busy night at the Breckenridge City Commission meeting Tuesday, May 4, with new commissioners being sworn in, local students making a presentation and actions being taken on topics including the water/sewer rates and the swimming pool operations.

The Breckenridge City Commission will meet this evening, Tuesday, April 4, for their regular May meeting, and the agenda includes two topics that were also discussed at last month’s meeting: the water and sewer rates and the aquatic center operations.

The Breckenridge High School students who renovated a park in the southeast part of the city proposed a new name for the park, and the city commissioners agreed with their idea during a special meeting on Thursday, April 22.

With Breckenridge’s interim city manager Scott Dixon’s three-month stint ending recently, the Breckenridge City Commission voted at their meeting earlier this month to appoint City Secretary Heather Robertson-Caraway as the interim city manager while the search committee seeks a new manager for the city.

Following the advice of Interim City Manager Scott Dixon, the Breckenridge City Commissioners approved an agreement with Public Works 1, a subsidiary of iWorQ Systems, for a street condition survey.
