After the election on Saturday, May 2, Breckenridge will soon have a new mayor and one new city commissioner, but the rest of the city commission and the local school board will remain the same.

Filing closes for city, school and hospital board elections; several offices to have contested races
The filing window for candidates to run for office on the Breckenridge City Commission, school board and hospital board closed on Friday, Feb. 13, and several of the races are contested. The election will be on May 2 with Early Voting to take place April 20-28.
Applications for the various positions that are up for election this year will be accepted through Feb. 13.
The street improvement change order extends the contract duration from 120 days to 150 days and increases the total contract amount by $279,698.95.
The City of Breckenridge’s Public Works Director, Kegan Burns, submitted his letter of resignation shortly after noon Thursday, June 26.
After discussing the issue for more than 15 minutes in the City Commission’s June 3 meeting, the commissioners unanimously approved the first reading of an ordinance, which updates the City of Breckenridge’s Schedule of Fees.
The Breckenridge City Commission met Tuesday, May 6, and passed changes to the local ordinance regarding recreational vehicles in the city limits and awarded the contract for the trash service, as well as took care of other city business.
After Saturday’s election, the Breckenridge City Commission will have two new commissioners, and the Stephens Memorial Hospital District Board of Trustees will remain the same as it has been.
Today, Tuesday, April 29, is the last day of Early Voting in the Breckenridge City Commission and the Stephens Memorial Hospital District Board of Directors elections.
