The Breckenridge High School Buckaroos and the Breckenridge Junior High School Broncos are preparing for a full slate of football, volleyball and cross country action in the 2025 season, with varsity, junior varsity and junior high squads all set to compete in non-district and district matchups throughout the fall.

The Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce is holding a 10k Run and Walk on Saturday, June 14, to raise funds for the drone show they are planning for this year’s Boomfest event.

In addition to the upcoming basketball camps, Breckenridge High School will host a couple of volleyball camps and a softball camp later this month.

Breckenridge High School will host two summer basketball camps this month, offering skill development and competitive play for incoming first through ninth grade students.

Breckenridge High School coaches will offer basketball and volleyball camps in April, May and June.

The Breckenridge High School girls powerlifting team left Breckenridge at 7 a.m. today, Wednesday, March 12, on their way to the state championship in Edinburg. Three members of the BHS boys powerlifting team will compete in the boys state championship next week.

Millie Walling of Breckenridge won first place in the Elks State Hoop Shoot contest on Saturday, Feb. 22, in Carrollton, and will advance to the regional competition next month.

Millie Walling, who won the local Hoop Shoot contest earlier this month in the Girls 8-9 category, won the district contest in Arlington on Jan. 18.

Five young people from Breckenridge will represent the community at the district Hoop Shoot free throw contest later this month.
