Breckenridge to take on Early Longhorns in tonight’s Homecoming game at Buckaroo Stadium

Tonight, Friday, Sept. 4, the Breckenridge High School varsity football team takes on the Early High School Longhorns for the 2026 Buckaroo Homecoming.

The community has been preparing for the game all week with shop windows painted with spirit slogans, students and staff at each school participating in daily dress-up themes, and the annual Homecoming Parade on Wednesday evening. And, at noon today, BHS hosted a pep rally at noon.
Before the game, the Homecoming Court presentation and the crowning of the 2026 Homecoming Queen will begin at 7 p.m. in Buckaroo Stadium, followed by the kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
This year’s Homecoming Queen candidates are:
- Madai Alvarado
- Aubrie Drake
- Braylen McCoy
- Analia Palacios
- Dylan Tidwell
Leo Mendoza was crowned as this year’s Homecoming King at the pep rally. The king candidates were:
- Hayden Mendoza
- Leo Mendoza
- Gunnar Pearce
- Connor Salazar
- Hudson Woodward

There were 53 floats in the Homecoming Parade, which featured a theme of “Under the Lights: Where Traditions Shine Bright.” The floats were judged based on theme interpretation, creativity and originality.
The winners of the parade contest were:
- First Place: One Church
- Second Place: Breckenridge Youth Flag Football
- Third Place: Little Bucks Cheer

Tickets to tonight’s game can be purchased online (click here). General admission tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for adults. Reserved seat tickets cost $10 each.
For those who cannot attend the game, the BISD YouTube page will livestream the game, and Charlie Parker and Lance Kitchens will broadcast the game on KLXK-93.5 FM radio.
