Breckenridge High School’s 2026 Homecoming is scheduled for the first home game of the season on Sept. 4. The Buckaroos will take on the Early High School Lions beginning at 7 p.m.

The Homecoming Court will be introduced on the field at about 6:30 p.m., including the announcement of the Homecoming Queen and King.

The annual Buckaroo Homecoming Parade will take place in downtown Breckenridge on Wednesday, Sept. 2. This year’s theme is “Under the Lights: Where Traditions Shine Bright.”

Those wanting to have a float in the parade need to fill out the official form (click here to download) and return it to Gentry Wimberley by Friday, Aug. 28. The rules related to the parade are included with the form.

The pep rally for the Homecoming game will begin at noon Friday, Sept. 4, in the main gym at the athletic facility, 706 N. Smith St. Then, the varsity football players and cheer team will go to East Elementary for a Little Bucks Pep Rally.

This year, the bonfire has been scheduled for the week of Senior Night (Nov. 4).

The BHS Student Council is selling “Under the Lights” Homecoming Green Out t-shirts for $14 for regular shirts and $16 for Dri-Fit shirts, with online orders due by Aug. 21.

Meet the Bucks

This week, the community will have an opportunity to attend the annual Meet the Bucks event, scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Buckaroo Stadium.

The event will be open to the public and will introduce the Buckaroo and Lady Buckaroo fall sports programs, including football, cheer, The Pride of Breckenridge-Buckaroo Marching Band, volleyball and cross country.

The first varsity football game will be Friday, Aug. 28, in Comanche. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
