She is lovingly remembered by her children: Christie Beaty Latham and her husband Kyle of Breckenridge, Texas; Roy Beaty and his wife Kelli of League City, Texas; and Scott Beaty of Carrollton, Texas. She leaves behind a cherished legacy in her grandchildren: Kylene Latham Sparks and her husband Clay of Bridgeport, Texas; Tera Latham Eddleman and her husband Kirk of Brock, Texas; Skye Latham Belding and her husband Greg of Wayland, Texas; Austin Beaty of Austin, Texas; Dallas Beaty and his wife Lauren of Lewisville, Texas; Ashlyn and Brooklyn Beaty of League City, Texas; Brianna Alleman and her husband Kevin of Dickinson, Texas; Brittney Riehl and her husband David of Santa Fe, Texas; and Brent Faust and his wife Emily of League City, Texas. Gammy has 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Cecil “Tena” Cordell, who turned 103 this month.
Nancye graduated from Pulaski High School in 1955. She went to nursing school for a short time before she followed her sisters to Houston where she met and married Charles Eugene Beaty on June 24, 1960. Nancye and her family moved to Breckenridge in 1977, where she worked in insurance and bookkeeping, retiring from Breck Operating in 2012.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother James Whitlock, and sisters Paula Willoughby and Peggy Tubb.
Gammy loved her family fiercely. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she poured her heart into each of them with unwavering devotion, encouragement, and pride. She had a way of making every person feel special, reminding them through both words and actions just how much they meant to her.
Her love didn’t stop with her own family. Gammy was truly a grandmother to all she met. Whether it was through a warm smile, a listening ear, or a comforting hug, or something from her Gammy bag, she had a gift for making people feel loved. To know her was to love her, and her kindness left a lasting imprint on countless lives.
Some of the most treasured memories of Gammy were the annual summers spent at the Petco Cabin at Possum Kingdom Lake. She loved bringing everyone together there, filling the days with laughter, sunshine, and togetherness. The cabin was always full — of family, of stories, and of the delicious treats she so lovingly made. Gammy was an incredible cook, and feeding the people she loved was one of her greatest joys, making sure each person’s favorite food was available. Whether it was a special dessert or a home-cooked meal shared around the table, she made sure no one ever left hungry, even it if wasn’t “fit to eat.”
She found joy in the things she loved most — cheering on sports, getting lost in a good book, and sharing those passions with others. She brought enthusiasm and heart into everything she did, always ready to celebrate life’s moments, both big and small.
Above all, Gammy loved Jesus. Her faith was the foundation of her life and shined through in her compassion, generosity, and grace. She lived her beliefs daily, showing others what it meant to love selflessly and walk in faith.
Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely and the family she cherished so deeply. Her memory will forever be held close in our hearts.
Our heartfelt thanks to the loving staff at Villa Haven Nursing Home for making Gammy a part of their family and to Jenna, Lea and Lisa from Solaris Hospice for taking such good care of her!
