Judy Crockett, 81, of Breckenridge, passed away on November 21, 2025. Her graveside service at Hart Cemetery will be held on Tuesday, November 25, beginning at 1:30 p.m., with Mike Cox officiating.

Judy was born November 13, 1944, to Dennis P. Wimberley and Belle Wesley Wimberley. She attended Breckenridge schools and was a life-long Breckenridge resident. She married Ronald Crockett in 1960. In 1961, Judy and Ron welcomed their son, Steve, and a few years later they were truly excited about the arrival of their daughter, Rhonda Carol, who tragically died shortly after her birth. Ron and Judy had 35 years together before he passed away in 1995.

Judy worked at several jobs, including Davis Manufacturing and First National Bank. In 1986 she went to work for Eckerd Drug and became a Certified Pharmacy Tech. She continued with CVS Pharmacy and worked for over 20 years before retiring.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and faithfully worshipped with the congregation that meets on Elliot Street. She was truly loved by her church family.

Judy enjoyed people and loved many, and it was easy for her to tell them that she loved them and showed her love by her actions. She had many friends who remember how freely she gave hugs always with the words “I love you.”

If you had the opportunity to spend much time with Judy, you would hear her tell stories about how she and Ron took trips on his motorcycle. Family was also important to her. She loved not only Ron and Steve, but Nina and Tommy as well. It wouldn’t be uncommon to hear her bragging about nieces and nephews.

During some of her free time, she volunteered with Meals on Wheels, which she enjoyed very much. Judy also loved being outside. Before Ron passed away, they spent many hours at the lake, skiing and boating. Judy was a true cat lover, which was immediately evident when you walked through her front door seeing cat-related decor everywhere. She was known as the Cat Lady because she cared for the neighborhood cats as well. More recently, she enjoyed watching the birds eat at the bird feeder outside her window at the Nursing Home.

She was a quiet, gentle spirit who was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by her numerous friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; her son, Steve, and daughter, Rhonda Carol; her parents, Dennis and Belle Wimberley; a sister, Dennie Stanley, and a brother, Joe (Bo) Wimberley. She is survived by a brother, Tommy Wimberley and wife, Sharon; a sister, Nina Wimberley and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to donor’s choice and can be left at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home, condolences can be left at meltonkitchens.com.
