Elwanna Oliver

Elwanna Oliver, age 90, of Woodson, Texas, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025. Her funeral service will be held at Woodson Church of Christ on Saturday, September 13, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m. with Mike Cox and Harvey Browning officiating. Visitation will be held before the service at 10 a.m.
Elwanna Dean Karl was born a triplet on November 25, 1934, in Austin, Texas, to Nig and Gladys Karl. She graduated from Woodson High School in 1954. Elwanna married Roy Berl Oliver on January 14, 1956.
In her younger years, she was an avid volleyball player with other ladies in the community. She spent her entire life in Woodson raising their three children. She never missed a football, volleyball, basketball game, or track meet, including her grandkids’ games whenever possible. She was proud of all her grandchildren (9) and great-grandchildren (16) and never missed a chance to tell anyone who would listen how many great-grandkids she had.
Elwanna is survived by her husband of 69 years, Roy Oliver of Woodson; daughter Tammy Browning and husband Harvey of Pilot Point; son Kyle Oliver and wife Susie of Throckmorton; daughter Ty Mercer and husband J of Breckenridge; and sister Jean Peacock and husband Laylon of Woodson. She is also survived by grandchildren Ashley Kadlubar (Jonathon) of Aubrey, Texas; Brandon Oliver (Abby) of Olney, Texas; Amber Jackson (Jordan) of Parker, Colorado; Braxton Oliver (Emily) of Abilene, Texas; Miles Mercer (Courtney) of Aubrey, Texas; Blayton Oliver (Alli) of Sweetwater, Texas; Tres Leal (Carlee) of Wichita Falls, Texas; Bryson Oliver (Shayla) of Highland, Texas; and Savannah Miller (Dalyn) of Wichita Falls, Texas. Great-grandchildren are Krue and Ella Kadlubar, Haven and Adler Oliver, Liam and Nora Jackson, Ellie, Olivia, and Ensley Oliver, Everly and Jonah Mercer, Gracelyn and Gatlin Oliver, Jaxon Leal, and Parker and Jack Oliver. She also had one niece and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Hollis Karl.
The family would like to thank Cara Branch and the nurses at Stephens Memorial Hospital and the entire staff at Villa Haven Nursing home for the excellent care they all provided our mother.
