BFAC to host closing reception for juried show and opening reception for Barbara Hack exhibit on Saturday, Sept. 26
The Breckenridge Fine Arts Center’s annual Juried Art Show will wrap up this week with a closing reception and awards celebration scheduled for 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. Additionally, in conjunction with the show’s reception, the BFAC will host an opening reception for an exhibit by the juror of this year’s show, Barbara Hack, from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

The Juried Art Show includes 94 pieces by artists from Breckenridge, as well as throughout Texas and several other states. There are paintings, sculptures, mixed media and fiber art. Click here to read more about the juried show.
This year’s juror, Hack, is from Flower Mound. Her large oil painting titled “Jerome: A Life’s Collage” was deemed “Best of Show” in the BFAC’s 2025 juried art show, and her painting “The Artist” won the same honor in the 2024 show. She is a member of the Portrait Society of America, Oil Painters of America, and National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society.
The BFAC exhibit, titled “A Conversation — Pull Up a Chair,” will be Hack’s first solo exhibition and will be on display at the BFAC through Dec. 31.
“This collection brings together new work, old work, and everything in between — pieces that have been waiting patiently for their moment to be seen, shared, and perhaps even questioned,” Hack wrote on her Facebook page, announcing the exhibit. “I believe art should do more than hang quietly on a wall. It should make you pause. Wonder. Feel. And start a conversation. So come pull up a chair, spend some time with the work, and listen closely…You never know what you might hear.”
