City, county, school district to hold public hearings on proposed tax rates, budgets

The local government entities will have their public hearings regarding the tax rates for the upcoming year, as well as their budgets, within the next three weeks, beginning with the school district’s hearing on Monday, Aug. 24. The public hearings are all open to the public.
Here is the schedule of public hearings:
- Aug. 24: The Breckenridge Independent School District’s public hearing for the tax rate and budget will start at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, in the school board chambers at the administration building, 208 N. Miller St. Click here to see the notice about the public hearing.
- Aug. 25: The City of Breckenridge’s public hearing on the proposed tax rate will start at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, in the City Commission chambers at City Hall, 105 N. Rose Ave., northside entrance. Click here to see the notice about the public hearing.
- Sept. 1: The City of Breckenridge’s public hearing on the proposed budget will start at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, in the City Commission chambers at City Hall, 105 N. Rose Ave., northside entrance. Click here to see the notice about the public hearing.
- Sept. 14: Stephens County’s public hearing on the proposed tax rate will start at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at the Stephens County Annex Building, 222 N. Baylor St. Click here to see the notice about the public hearing.
