Stephens Memorial Hospital seeks community input to help guide future decision-making
Stephens Memorial Hospital is seeking community input on its services, facilities and operations and soliciting recommendations for future improvements and investments via an online survey available through May 30.
“We want to hear from as many members of our community as possible, even if they’re not current patients of our hospital or clinic,” said Gena Speer, CEO, Stephens Memorial Hospital. “Stephens Memorial Hospital is everyone’s hospital, and this citizens’ survey is intended to harvest broad perspectives so that we can do more for more of our community.”
The citizens’ survey follows a similar survey of community leaders conducted earlier this year. Questions focus on the community’s awareness of, satisfaction with, and expectations for the hospital.
Both surveys are elements of a larger, ongoing initiative, HealthConnect, through which the hospital is working with a third-party research and strategic planning organization to strengthen the connection between Stephens Memorial Hospital and the larger community, according to a news release from SMH.
“Stephens Memorial Hospital has served our community since 1951, and we have added services and programs as our region has grown,” Speer said. “With community feedback, we can continue that growth, guided by what our community needs and values.”
Last week, the hospital celebrated National Hospital Week with several events, including a Blessing of the Hands on Tuesday, May 12, and the annual community cookout on Friday, May 15.
The citizens’ survey is open until May 30, and every community member is invited to participate. Responses are anonymous and will be aggregated to help Stephens Memorial Hospital identify areas of opportunity for greater community engagement and investment.
