Homecoming parade celebrates Buckaroos; kickoff set for 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19

The Breckenridge community celebrated the Buckaroos — past, present and future — on Wednesday night with the annual Homecoming Parade through downtown, followed by a pep rally and bonfire at the baseball/softball fields.
The theme of the parade was “Boots and Roots,” and there were 56 floats/entries in the parade.

The floats were judged on their theme interpretation, creativity, and originality. The following floats were chosen as the winners:
- 1st Place: Wee School
- 2nd Place: Breckenridge FFA and Stephens Co 4H
- 3rd Place: BJHS Bronco Cheerleaders
The Breckenridge High School varsity football team will take on the Eastland Mavericks Friday night, Sept. 19, in Buckaroo Stadium for the Homecoming game. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., but the Pre-Game Homecoming Court Presentation and BHS FFA American Flag Raising Ceremony will begin at about 6:30 p.m. BISD will start the livestream on the BISD YouTube page at 6 p.m. that evening.
Earlier in the day Friday, there will be a community-wide pep rally at noon in the main gym of the Breckenridge Independent School District’s Athletic Center (on the corner of North Live Oak and West Second Street)
