The Stephens County Commissioners Court voted unanimously to appoint Stephens County Deputy Brian McBride to the position of Constable. He was sworn in during a special meeting this morning, Monday, May 19.
McBride has been a deputy with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office since January 2022. Prior to that, he was patrol officer and K-9 officer with the Breckenridge Police Department for three years. From 2016 to 2018, he was deputy marshal for the Dallas Marshal’s Office.
He originally earned his peace officer’s license in 1991 at the Kaufman County Police Academy.
During the meeting, Stephens County Judge Michael Roach said that McBride had earned a master peace officer certification in 2018. “That’s quite a career,” Roach said.
McBride was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Wayne McMullen, who died on April 22.
