Breckenridge Elks Lodge to host fundraising Poker Run on Saturday, elects new officers

The Elks Lodge #1480 in Breckenridge will host a Memorial Weekend Poker Run fundraiser on Saturday, May 24. The event, aimed at raising funds for the lodge, is open to both motorcycles and cars, inviting participants to enjoy a scenic route through several local stops, where they will receive cards for their poker hands.

Registration will cost $10 per person, with participants able to purchase additional cards to improve their poker hands. Back at the Elks Lodge after the trip, cash prizes will be awarded for both the best and worst hands, with prize amounts determined by the number of participants. A 50/50 raffle will also be held, offering another chance to win cash.

The event will start and finish at the Elks Lodge, located at 6074 FM 2231, west of Breckenridge. Registration opens at 10 a.m., with the last bike out at 11 a.m. and the final check-in by 4 p.m.

The poker run route includes stops at the following locations:

County Line in Woodson
Rockin S Bar & Grill in Graham
Boondocks at Possum Kingdom (PK)
The Deer Lease in Mingus

Food and drink specials will be available throughout the day, including $10 cheeseburger baskets at the lodge.

New Officers

Earlier this spring, the Breckenridge Elks Lodge had the installation of the 2025-2026 officers. This year marks the 101st anniversary of the local charter with the Elks National Foundation.

The Elks works to assist those in need, most notably children, veterans and first responders. In the past year, the local organization donated over $10,000 to organizations and individuals in the community.
