The Breckenridge Fine Arts Center is now taking submissions for its 33rd Annual Juried Art Show. The deadline to enter is June 13.

The competition is open to artists age 21 and older. Eligible entries include original 2- and 3-dimensional art in oil, watercolor, scratchboard, acrylic, gouache, alkyd, tempera, mixed media, pastel, pencil, pen and ink, aquatint, fiber, bronze, wood, glass and ceramic. No photography, prints, or computer-generated artwork will be accepted. Entries must not have been entered in the BFAC Juried Show in the past and cannot be older than 3 years, except for bronze sculptures. Click here to read all of the rules of the competition.

To enter, artists must fill out an online form and submit it, with an image of the entry and a non-refundable $25 fee. Click here for the entry form. The juror will then choose the art that will appear in the show. All entry submissions must be submitted on the BFAC’s website via the online form by 9 p.m., central time, on Friday, June 13. All entries are time-stamped and no exceptions will be granted. Artists whose work is accepted for the show will be notified by July 1.

This year’s juror is Liz Bonham of Southlake. She began her career in portraiture at age 15. Her artistic journey has included a BFA in painting from Abilene Christian University, postgraduate work, and private study. She is an active member of OPA-Oil Painters of America,  WAOW-Women Artist of the West (Signature Member), AIS-American Impressionist Society, PAPNM-Plein Air Painters of New Mexico, and NOAPS-National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society (Signature Member), AWA-American Women Artists (Associate With Distinction), APA-American Plains Artists and OPS-Outdoor Painters Society. This year’s show will include $3,500 in prizes, as follows:

  • BFAC Best of Show $1,500
  • Shalon Taylor Wilson Memorial Award $1,000
  • Lester & Virginia Clark Memorial Award $750
  • Bob Swindle Award $250

Last year’s show featured entries from Illinois, Colorado, Oklahoma, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, and over 30 cities across Texas.

The BFAC’s 2025 Juried Show will open on Aug. 22 and be on exhibit through Oct. 11.
