Bianca Gotschall came in second place, and Hailey Berry was third. In the younger age group, Romie Hinshaw from the Moran area, was the first place winner.

This year’s contest was divided into two categories, ages 8-13 and age 14 and older. There was just one prize for the younger age group, $150. The top three in the older age group received prizes, $750 for first place, $350 for second place and $150 for third place.

All of the entries this year sang and/or played an instrument. Wood performed “I Let Him Love Me” by Laci Kaye Boothe, playing the guitar while she sang.

Gotschall sang “Creep” by Radiohead, and Berry sang “Gunpowder and Lead” by Miranda Lambert.

Other contestants in the contest included Sarah Kate Griffith, Diego, Angela Springer, Olena Hinshaw, Cataleya Pagitt and Gracyn Kelly. The judges of the competition were David Martinez, Bonnie Rice and Teresa Purcell. The MC was Heather Bronkhorst.

Performing while the judges’ scores were being tallied were the 2024 Breck’s Got Talent winner, Abbi Duran; last year’s second place winner, Preslie Malcuit; and the 2023 Breckenridge Idol winner, Anthony Kelly. In 2024, the annual competition was changed from “Breckenridge Idol” to “Breck’s Got Talent.”

The Breckenridge Texan has more photos from the competition and will post them in a Photo Gallery as soon as possible.
