The Breckenridge Elks Lodge No. 1480 presented four local volunteer fire departments with supplies and gift cards on Saturday afternoon.

The supplies included first aid kits, gloves, CPR masks, fire blankets, towelettes and $200 Visa gift cards to purchase drinking water with. Each box of supplies is worth $1,000.

The funds for the donation came from a $4,000 Elks Beacon Grant the local lodge received.

Members of the Hubbard Creek VFD, Caddo VFD, Wayland VFD and Olden VFD were at the Elks Lodge Saturday to accept the donations.

“The Elks are proud to be able to give this stuff to you guys today,” Elks Exalted Ruler John Powell said. “We’re very proud to be part of this community … and we’re glad to have you all here today to accept the supplies that we’re able to give you.”

In the past year, the Breckenridge Elks Lodge has donated more than $10,000 to the Breckenridge community. They have made contributions to the U.S. veterans in the nursing home, Dr. Goodall’s House, Meals on Wheels and to special needs kids.
