Song Swap

Last year’s Performance Series featured Breckenridge’s first song swap, and this year’s event brings back two performers from last year — Kyle Fambro and Jared McLane — along with two new talents to the National Theatre’s stage — Jess Goodlett and Garrett Bryan.  A song swap is basically a group of musicians who get together and take turns playing songs. Often, they play songs they’ve written, as well as some of their favorite songs, written by other people.

Fambro, a singer/songwriter from Breckenridge, grew up in Breckenridge and serves as a board member of the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center and the Breckenridge Convention & Visitors Bureau, as well as manager at Pate’s Hardware. He led last year’s song swap and often performs at venues in Breckenridge and beyond.

McLane is also a local singer/songwriter, and he often performs with Fambro, with others or solo. When he’s not out there performing, he’s the elections administrator for Stephens County, overseeing the elections in the county.

Goodlett, an Abilene native, spent some time in California, where she collaborated with fellow musicians and songwriters, honing her craft and exploring new musical horizons. According to the National Theatre, Goodlett “brings an unmistakable soulful sound blending rock, blues, folk, and R&B.”

Originally from Natchez, Mississippi, Garrett Bryan grew up right across the border in Concordia Parish, Louisiana, before his family moved to Callahan County, Texas, when he was a teen. According to his website, Bryan was inspired to become a singer when he saw Percy Sledge perform “When a Man Loves a Woman.” He and his band, the Traveling City Committee, have recorded three studio albums and have played on countless other projects – individually and collectively as a backing band.

Performance Series

In February, “New York, New York Dueling Pianos” will come to Breckenridge, and the season will wrap up in April with the Brandon Davis Band.

All shows this season will be on Saturdays, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the shows beginning at 7 p.m.

Ticket prices will vary from show to show.
