On Thursday afternoon, Glenn and Kristen Regmund held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce for their business, W7 Windmills, located west of Breckenridge on FM 3201.

They sell, install and service Aermotor Windmills, as well as other brands. They also sell solar panels.

The windmills are vintage-style windmills that are capable of pumping water. However, 90 percent of the windmills they sell are for decorative uses, Kristen said.

According to the company website, www.W7Windmills.com, they started out with a small antique business in Weatherford almost 15 years ago. Along the way, they discovered that their passion is purchasing, refurbishing, selling, and installing windmills all over the country. Although they still enjoy “antiquing,” they now focus most of their efforts on the windmill side of the business.

Based in Breckenridge, they travel all over the country, delivering, picking up and installing windmills. The windmill heads or wheels range in diameter from 6 to 10 feet, and the towers range from 6 to 12 feet or taller.

When they’re not out installing windmills, the Regmunds and the rest of the W7 staff make time to service already-installed windmills.
