Wade will fill the position being vacated by Eric O’Dell, who submitted his resignation earlier this month. O’Dell’s last day as commissioner will be Dec. 31.
Once in office, Wade will serve as a commissioner until the next general election in 2026.
Roach, along with County Commissioners Will Warren, David Fambro and Mark McCullough, interviewed several candidates before he made the announcement.
“I’m super excited,” Wade said. “I’m ready to learn. I’m excited to work with these guys.”
Wade, a 2012 Breckenridge High School graduate, has a bachelor of business administration-management degree from Tarleton State University and owns TW Dozer and Excavation. He previously worked for Ritchie Brothers and Breckenridge Rental and Sales. He said he thinks his work experience will help in the new position.
He and his wife, Jessica, live with their two sons, Jace and Ashton, in Stephens County, near Hubbard Creek Lake.
