Eva Nell Duckworth was born November 18, 1935, in Gainesville, Texas, to Leslie F. Duckworth and Viola Mae Pierce Duckworth. She married Laun Melton Templeton on June 18, 1954, in Breckenridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laun Templeton; her parents, Leslie and Viola Mae Duckworth; and one sister, Hazel Kelly.
Mrs. Templeton is survived by her two sons, Lannie Templeton and wife Sandy of Stamford, Texas, and Loren Templeton and wife Amy of Allen, Texas; six grandchildren, Kolby Templeton and wife Kelsey, Kyler Templeton and wife Pennington, Shay Templeton Gomez (who was like a daughter to her) and husband Kaden, Cain Templeton, Ian Legg and wife Chloe, and Lexie Templeton; and three great-grandchildren, Kleasy Templeton, Kayson Templeton, and Stellan Templeton; as well as two nephews, Gary Frank Sanders and Timothy Lee Sanders.
Eva was a strong and vibrant lady who spread joy to whoever she met. She had a way of communicating with others effortlessly and impacted the lives of many. She was endlessly giving and loved her family more than anything else in life. She enjoyed years of traveling with her sons and husband in motor-homes across Texas and beyond to motocross tracks where she supported their passion for motorcycle racing. She had a fiery nature and always pushed for her family to have the best no matter what.
She worked in financial aid for a majority of her early life at Hardin-Simmons University, as well as at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, and later worked as an office clerk at QMACs in the North Dallas area where she continued to make life-long friends.
Eva had a joyful, bold, determined, strong-willed, and deeply loving spirit. Her life was full of celebration as she enjoyed decorating and hosting the family gatherings even into the later parts of her life at the home she built with her husband in Plano, Texas. Her house was always welcoming, full of warmth, and her arms were always open for anyone in need. She unfailingly was always there to support her family. In many ways, she was the family’s rock.
Please help us in celebrating such a vibrant life.
Flowers can be sent prior to Sunday August 18, 2024, to Morehart Mortuary, 1101 W. Walker St., Breckenridge, TX 76424.
