The Breckenridge Fine Arts Center is currently accepting entries for its 32nd annual juried art show, which is scheduled for July 23- Oct. 5. The deadline for entries is 9 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024.
This year’s juror will be Christopher Stanley, an Associate Professor of Art at The University of Texas Permian Basin in Odessa. He has received awards not only for his art but also for teaching and community service and has written two books, “500 Bowls” and “Surface Design for Ceramics.”
The show features four awards worth a total of more than $3,500.
The competition is open to artists age 21 and older. Eligible entries include original 2- and 3-dimensional art in oil, watercolor, scratchboard, acrylic, gouache, alkyd, tempera, mixed media, pastel, pencil, pen and ink, aquatint, fiber, bronze, wood, glass and ceramic. No photography, prints, or computer-generated artwork will be accepted. Entries must not have been exhibited at the BFAC Juried Show in the past and cannot be older than 3 years, except for bronze sculptures. Click here to read all of the rules of the competition.
To enter, artists must fill out an online form and submit it, with an image of the entry and the $25 fee. Click here for the entry form. Stanley will then choose the art that will appear in the show. Those accepted for the show will be notified by June 21.
