From Frontier Days and the Ranch Rodeo to baseball games and concerts, this weekend offers a variety of activities for the Breckenridge community.

Frontier Days is going on in the Breckenridge City Park today and Saturday, May 3-4, and includes the annual chuckwagon cookoff, Miss Breckenridge Pageant, Breck’s Got Talent competition and more. Click here to read the Breckenridge Texan article about the event.

The 2024 Stephens County Ranch Rodeo gets underway with mugging, doctoring, stray gathering, sorting and mutton bustin’ at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Friday, May 3, at the Stephens County Rodeo Arena on Country Road 245, off of U.S. 180 East, next to the Ag Center. The rodeo will continue with team roping on Saturday morning, followed by more ranch rodeo events on Saturday night. On Sunday, May 5, the Stick Horse Rodeo will start at 10 a.m., and the Junior Ranch Rodeo will begin at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $10 each per day or $20 each for all three days. Also on Friday evening, the Breckenridge High School Buckaroo baseball team will play the second game — and third game, if necessary — of the Bi-District Championship Series against the Jacksboro Tigers in Graham. Game 2 will start at 5 p.m. Friday, May 3, with Game 3 to follow, if necessary. The two teams played Game 1 in the two-out-of-three series on Wednesday, May 1, with the Tigers coming out on top, 6-1. The 2024 County Line-Clear Fork CookOff & Keaton Wade Music Fest is scheduled to kickoff at 6 p.m. Friday, May 3, at 13490 U.S. Highway 183 North. The concert lineup will include Jamie Tollison, Finis Smith and Race Ricketts on Friday. On Saturday, May 4, the concerts will start at 4 p.m. with the Urban Pioneers and continue with Matt Stapp, Joey Green and Slade Coulter.
