Deadline for 2024 Miss Breckenridge Pageant extended to Friday, April 26
UPDATE: This year’s Miss Breckenridge Pageant will take place during the Stephens County Frontier Days next month, and the deadline to register a girl to enter has been extended to Friday, April 26.
The pageant is open to Breckenridge girls age newborn to 19 (19-year-olds must still be in school). All contestants will present in a formal/Sunday outfit. Only one parent will be allowed to walk with children under age 4.
The competition is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, at the Trade Barn in the 400 block of Dunnigan Avenue, in the southwestern portion of the Breckenridge City Park, aka Miller Park. Contestants will be expected to arrive by 1:30 p.m. to get signed in and get their number. A rehearsal will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, at the Trade Barn.
The non-refundable entry fee is $55 per girl and must be submitted by the registration deadline, Friday, April 19. Entry forms may be picked up and dropped off at the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce office, 100 E. Elm St., or at Halo Cosmetics, 806 W. Walker St. All entrants will receive a medal.
The pageant will be divided into five divisions:
- Tiny Miss — ages newborn to 12 months
- Toddler Miss — 1 year to 4 years
- Little Miss — 5 years to 8 years
- Junior Miss — 9 years to 13 years
- Miss Breckenridge — 14 years to 19 years
There will also be five subcategories that contestants can enter for an additional $15 each — Photogenic (1 4×6 required), Best Smile, Prettiest Dress, Most Beautiful Eyes and Most Scholarly.
The Most Popular Category is based on “dollar votes.” Participants are encouraged to collect $1 votes from family and friends. The contestant who turns in the most $1 votes will win the sub-category for Most Popular.
A portion of the proceeds from the pageant will go to a local non-profit organization of the newly crowned Miss Breckenridge’s choice. A list of non-profits will be provided to the winner.
