The Breckenridge Woman’s Forum recently hosted a program by Stephens Memorial Hospital Auxiliary President Niki Aldridge and Vice President Glenda Knight.

They discussed the auxiliary’s current fundraising efforts aimed at acquiring a cutting-edge ultrasound machine for the hospital.

The new ultrasound machine will be a state-of-the-art addition to the hospital’s medical equipment and is expected save SMH thousands of dollars a month that is currently being paid for other hospitals to read the results produced by the current ultrasound machine. Additionally, the hospital faces lost revenue by having to outsource tests that the current machine lacks the capabilities to perform.

In support of the project, the Woman’s Forum encourages the community to shop at the SMH Gift Shop, operated by the auxiliary and located in the hospital’s lobby. The proceeds from the shop are dedicated to funding hospital projects and improvements.

Rhonda Strickland, Betty Fields, Ann Heckart, Sue Fisher, Sherry Evers and Teeny Pearce hosted the Halloween-themed meeting.
