Local FFA and 4H to host stock show meetings July 31, Aug. 28
Breckenridge FFA and Stephens County 4H have planned two upcoming meetings for stock show information. The meetings will be at the Breckenridge High School ag classrooms on Monday, July 31, at 6:30 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 28, at 6:30 p.m.
Austin Hanna, BHS ag science teacher and FFA sponsor, and Jessie Shortes, Stephens County Extension Agent, will be covering topics about the 2024 Stephens County Junior Livestock Show, as well as all of the major livestock shows. They will discuss expectations, how stock shows work, ordering tags, validation, county vs majors, and basically any and all things stock show related.
All FFA and 4H members who plan to show an animal at a stock show must be in attendance. The meetings will have beneficial information for everyone, regardless of how long they’ve been showing at stock shows.
Those interested are encouraged to check the FFA and and 4H social media accounts for updates.
