Breckenridge Fine Arts Center, Library to host children’s programs this summer
The Breckenridge Library and the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center kicked off their summer children’s programs with the Creature Teacher earlier this month. Activities will continue with the BFAC’s Children’s Art Workshop and the library’s Summer Reading Program.
The Summer Reading Program will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesdays at the library, 209 N. Breckenridge Ave., in June and July, with the exception of July 4. The program will include guest readers who will visit the library to read a book to the kids; many also will offer a related activity. The program is open to children of all ages.
The Breckenridge Library is open from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. It is closed Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. For more information, call the library at 254-559-5505.
The Children’s Art Workshop will be June 20-22 at the fine arts center, located at 207 N. Breckenridge Ave. The cost will be $3 per child with a family maximum of $6.
According to the BFAC’s Facebook page, most of the workshops are already filled, and the fine arts center is taking names for a waiting list in case some of the ones registered don’t show up.
The workshops will be offered by grade level on the following schedule:
K-1st 9:30-10:30 a.m.
2nd-3rd 10:45 a.m. – noon
4th-6th 1-2:30 p.m.
7th-8th 2:30-4 p.m.

The BFAC is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. It is closed on Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays.
