BHS, BJHS student athletes raising funds for uniforms, equipment
Last week the Breckenridge Buckaroo Athletics launched an online fundraiser through Adrenaline Fundraising to help fund upgrades to equipment and facilities.
The specific use of funds are earmarked for Breckenridge Junior High girls basketball uniforms, football safety equipment, and possibly LT Cook and junior gym upgrades, according to Breckenridge Independent School District Athletic Director Casey Pearce. Other possibilities for using the funds were discussed at the February meeting of the BISD All-Sports Booster Club.
“Breckenridge has a long history of athletic excellence and competitiveness,” Pearce said in a news release from the Booster Club. “If we want to maintain those traditions, we need to continue to upgrade, ensuring the safety and success of our student-athletes.”
Each junior high and high school student has a goal of raising $250 by sharing their personal fundraising link with family and friends. Kids win awards for meeting the goals, and top fundraisers will win personalized prizes.
The online fundraiser ends on Feb 20, 2023. The total fundraising goal is $25,000. As of February 8, the Buckaroos & Lady Bucks have raised $14,900.
“I’m amazed and extremely appreciative of this communities continued support. We are asking every BISD athlete and their families to get behind this effort and help us meet our goal,” Pearce said. “Let’s continue to put BISD back on the list of top athletic programs in Texas.”
