The City of Breckenridge and Stephens County will pick up brush with a wood chipper inside the corporate limits of Breckenridge the week of Oct. 17 at no charge to residents. The semi-annual brush pickup is a cooperative effort between the city and the county to help Breckenridge residents dispose of their tree trimmings.

Residents will need to have brush/tree trimmings they would like chipped and hauled off at curbside by 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14 , but no earlier than 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13.

No brush larger than four inches in diameter will be picked up. Brush must be cut in lengths no longer than six feet long and should be limbs only, no dirt or roots. Uprooted trees with roots attached cannot be run through the chipper.

Additionally, the City will have bulk pickup on Thursday, Oct. 20. City residents may have three large items picked up and must call the City offices at 254-559-8272 by Friday, Oct. 14, to be put on the bulk pickup list.

The bulk pickup is offered the third Thursday of every month.

For more information, call the City of Breckenridge at 254-559-8287.
