Loma June Hood was born in Breckenridge, Texas, on December 7, 1930, to parents John William Hood and Loma Ester (Martin) Hood. June attended Breckenridge High School and graduated as part of the BHS Class of 1949. On January 22, 1955, Loma married Arliss Eugene Willingham, the man who would be her husband for close to seven decades! Together, the couple was blessed with three children: Brad, John Ray, and Arlissa. Anyone who knew June would easily tell you that she was a very caring individual who enjoyed life. She loved the times she got to laugh with her family and friends or the times when she was out shopping. She was very family oriented and having her family home during the holidays was something she always looked forward to.

June’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Throckmorton County EMS, Woodson Volunteer Fire Dept., and Healing Hands Healthcare for their unwavering kindness and understanding.

Preceding June in death were her parents; her brothers, John Franklin “Bub” Hood and William Donivan Hood; along with one son, John Ray Willingham.

June is survived by her husband of over 67 years, Arliss; children Brad Eugene Willingham (Lisa) and Arlissa Gay Willingham Murphy Schober (Bill); grandchildren, Dana Elsom (Josh), Caitlin Herring (Brandon), Jordan McFadden (Andrew), Blaire Robinson (Amanda), Andrew Murphy (Ashley), and Taylor Willingham-Rosales (Alex); bonus grandchildren, Andrew Bond (Yeanna), Cameron Schober (Karin), and Sarah Brignac (Brent); as well as her great-grandchildren, Noah Elsom, Hannah Herring, Eve Elsom, Corbin Herring, Koraline Schober, Blaike McFadden, Theodore Brignac, Louis Schober, Madison June Murphy, Kellan McFadden, Fritz Schober, and Juliette Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in June’s name be made to either the Woodson Volunteer Fire Department or the Throckmorton County EMS. Donations can be left at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. Condolences can be made online at meltonkitchens.com.
