The traditional ceremony took place in the BHS Athletic Facility gym with the soon-to-be graduates entering to the familiar strains of “Pomp and Circumstance.” Senior Aimee Toliver gave the invocation, and BHS Principal Christopher Hancock announced the various awards and honors, including the Valedictorian, Salutatorian, academic top 10 percent of the class, those who were honored for National Honor Society membership, dual blood donor, dual credit classes, dual language ESL endorsement, SAT/ACT Endorsement, Industrial Arts Foundation and others.

Salutatorian Liberty Vandergriff gave the Salutatory Address, followed by Valedictorian Jaylen Harper’s Valedictory Address.

Then, Breckenridge Independent School District Superintendent Bryan Allen declared the class graduated and told them they could move the tassels on their mortarboards (aka graduate caps) from the right side to the left. BHS Assistant Principal Jeremy West read the names of the graduates while BISD Board of Trustees President Graham Reaugh and other board members presented them with their diplomas.

Senior Kason Knight gave the Benediction, and the senior cheerleaders led the Class of 2022 in singing the school song.

Then, the graduates tossed their caps into the air before meeting up with their families and friends.
