With only 10 calendar days left in the 2021-2022 school year, Breckenridge Independent School District has a variety of activities coming up in the next week and a half.

Here’s a list of upcoming school-related events:

Tuesday, May 17

• 6-8:30 p.m. Spring Band Concert in Bailey Auditorium
• 6 p.m. FFA Banquet

Wednesday, May 18

• 9 a.m. Breckenridge High School Awards and Scholarship Presentation in Bailey Auditorium
• 2-4 p.m. Retirement reception for Martha Brannan, Glenda Knight, Lynette Norman and Lou Simmons in BISD Administration Office Board Room, 208 N. Miller St.
• 6:30 p.m. Special board meeting regarding contract and financing for new Buckaroo Stadium scoreboard. Click here for agenda.

Thursday, May 19

• 10 a.m. Third-grade End of Year Celebration at Breckenridge City Park (students need to bring a sack lunch)
• 7 p.m. BHS All-Sports Banquet at BISD Athletic Center

Friday, May 20

• No school.
• Breckenridge Junior High’s 8th Grade trip to the NRH20 Festival/Performance

Saturday, May 21

• BHS Theatre presents “Defying Gravity”  by Jane Anderson at 7 p.m. in Bailey Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door — $7 for adults and $5 for students (cash or check only).

Sunday, May 22

• BHS Theatre presents “Defying Gravity”  by Jane Anderson at 2:30 p.m. in Bailey Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door — $7 for adults and $5 for students (cash or check only).

Monday, May 23

• Fifth-grade kickball tournament at softball fields
• Second-grade activities in the Breckenridge City Park

Tuesday, May 24

• South Elementary Field Day. Morning activities include Color Run and track events; afternoon includes fun stations.
• First-grade activities in the Breckenridge City Park.

Wednesday, May 25

• Class of 2022’s Senior Parade of Schools. Starts at Buckaroo Stadium for cap and gown drone video and Class of 2022 pictures, followed by visits to each campus. The morning will wrap up at the City Park for games, yearbooks, burgers and more.
• Fourth-grade Pool Noodle Olympics on the South Elementary playground.
• East Elementary Water Field Day on school playground.

Thursday, May 26

• 9 a.m. Class of 2022 breakfast at the Breckenridge Woman’s Forum, followed by graduation practice at the BISD Athletics Center (Main Gym)
• South Elementary awards ceremonies
• 1 p.m. Early Release
• Last day of classes

Friday, May 27

• 7 p.m. Class of 2022 Graduation in BISD Athletics Center (Main Gym)
