BISD honors students, teachers, board members, and extends superintendent’s contract
At their meeting last month, members of the Breckenridge Independent School District Board of Trustees were honored for National School Board Appreciation Month and they honored the Students of the Month. Additionally, the board agreed to purchase some technology equipment and conducted the superintendent’s evaluation.
School Board Appreciation
Students, teachers and administrators from the school district’s campuses presented the board members with tokens of their appreciation.
“I can tell you that the seven individuals that sit up here beside me have gone above and beyond during the last 18 months of very difficult times,” BISD Superintendent Bryan Allen said. “And I know it’s not just difficult for schools, but they’ve had to make some tough decisions and do the things that we needed done in our community for our students. So before I get to everybody else, I want to say to each and everyone, thank you for me and my family, for all that you do and all that you continue to do for our students.”
South Elementary provided the board with a meal for the meeting, and the junior high presented the members with Bronco t-shirts, as well as with notes from teachers and students. The high school gave the board members plaques commemorating the past year, and the ag department presented them with caps and windbreakers.
Students and Teachers of the Month
Each campus honored the following Students of the Month:
- Brock Shepperd, East Elementary second-grade student
- Isacc Medrano, South Elementary fourth-grade student
- Kameron Nickell, Junior High sixth-grade student
- Rylan Sims, High School senior
Additionally, Allen recognized Kim Tipton, BJHS reading intervention teacher, as Teacher of the Month of November, and Katy Butler, East Elementary first grade teacher, as Teacher of the Month of December.
