Lexi Matthews crowned 2022 Buckaroo Queen

On Saturday night, Feb. 5, the Breckenridge community gathered in Bailey Auditorium for a long-held tradition as Lexi Matthews was crowned the 2022 Buckaroo Queen by Great Lord Chamberlain Isaak Eutimio in Breckenridge High School’s 97th Coronation.

The ceremony featured the theme “A Night of Fire and Ice,” which was reflected in the dresses worn by the girls in the Royal Court, which included various shades of icy blue, fiery red, along with silver, gold and black.

The Master of Ceremonies was Anson Rodgers, and the entertainment was provided by:

Avery Rodgers — “The Commission”
Anthony Kelly — “Dust in the Wind”
Calvin Best — Orator

The Head Usher was Joaquin Hernandez. The ushers were Roman Gonzales, Naydeli Ibarra Rocha, Manny Zubieta, Haigan Thompson, Elizabeth San Lucas, Morgan Duncan, Ashton Reyes, Miley Roberts and John Sackett.

The event was sponsored by The Woman’s Forum and The White Orchid Floral & Events. Following the formal ceremony, the Royal Court reassembled on the stage for photos by Photography Director Calvin Best.
