Wags & Whiskers race, fun run scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 11
The seventh annual Wags & Whiskers 5K and Furry Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 11, in the Breckenridge City Park, 601 E. Walker St.
All proceeds from the race will benefit the Stephens County Humane Society.
Participants may register online on the Race Day Event Services website or onsite on the day of the race. Anyone who would like to make a donation to the SCHS may do so on the Race Day website, as well; on the page for the Wags & Whiskers race (linked above), click the “Donate” button on the left.
The 5K fee for early registration (through Dec. 10) is $30 for those age 18 and older, and $20 for those age 17 and younger. Early registration (through Dec. 10) for the Fun Run is $15 for all ages. On race day, the registrations will cost $35 (5K, 18+), $25 (5K, 17 and younger), and $20 (Fun Run).
According to the organizers, well behaved dogs on leashes are welcome to participate with their humans.
Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division and to the top overall male and female runners.
The award categories will include male and female divisions for the following age brackets:
12 & Under
13-17
18-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60-69
70+
The race day schedule will be as follows:
- Check in – 8-8:45 a.m.
- 5K start – 9 a.m.
- Fun Run start – 9:15 a.m.
