Although heavy rains in the early morning hours and afternoon of Monday, May 31, led to localized flooding, there was a temporary halt in the rainfall just in time for family, friends and others to gather with members of VFW Post 7767 and its auxiliary on the southwest corner of the Stephens County Courthouse lawn to honor the local U.S. military veterans who passed away last year.
