Wendy Humphreys-Collier, 49, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021, in Baytown, Texas, with her mom and dad by her side. Her funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Gunsight Baptist Church with Rex Boggs and Patrick Frishe officiating. The family will welcome friends for a visitation from 5:00-6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021, in the Melton-Kitchens Chapel of Memories.

Wendy Lee Humphreys was born on May 16, 1971, in Breckenridge, Texas, to parents Larry “Pat” Humphreys and Rena Beth (Coats) Humphreys. As a child, Wendy was active in Girl Scouts, attending Girl Scouts camp and selling tons of cookies! She also competed in three beauty pageants as a child. In 1989, she graduated from Breckenridge High School. She worked at Walmart for several years. Later in her life she married her husband, Steve Collier. Together they had one son, Steven Patrick.

Wendy was a caring, gentle, happy-go-lucky soul always smiling with kind words for all. She never met a stranger and was always helping any way that she could. She loved her family and friends and was a devoted wife and mother. She worked hard providing for her husband and son, always putting them first and loving them with all her heart and soul.

Wendy and her mom – a loving mother and daughter duo – were the best of friends. Their favorite TV program was “The Young and the Restless.” They would call or text each other daily to discuss what was happening on the show. She also loved the show, “This Is Us.”

Wendy loved animals. Spirro was her devoted support kitty and Zoe was her beloved dog. Both of them stayed right by her side, especially during her illness.

Wendy is survived by a family who loves her dearly and will forever miss her: parents, Pat and Rena Humphreys; husband, Steve Collier; son Steven Patrick Collier and girlfriend Bree Fregia; and brother, James “Bubba” Humphreys and wife Cybil.

“God got a true angel when he got our Wendy Girl.”

Memorial donations in Wendy’s name can be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Stephens County Humane Society and can be left at the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home office. Condolences can be made online at meltonkitchens.com.
