Stephens County Junior Livestock Show kicks off with Rabbit Show, continues today

The 2021 Stephens County Junior Livestock Show and Sale kicked off Thursday evening, Jan. 7, with the Rabbit Show at the Stephens County Ag Center on U.S. Highway 180, east of Breckenridge, and will continue today with the showing of the poultry, goats, sheep, swine and cattle.

On Saturday morning, the SCJLS will feature the interviews for the Herdsman Award, the  Jacob Jackson Master Showman competition and the floral design judging, followed by the annual awards presentation.

The show will wrap up with the buyers luncheon and the sale Saturday afternoon.

Here is the schedule for today and Saturday:

Friday Jan. 8
9 – 9:30 a.m.
Judging of Poultry

9:30 – 11 a.m.
Judging of Breeding Sheep
Judging of Market Sheep
Judging of County Born and Bred Sheep
Judging of Sheep Showmanship

11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Judging of Breeding Goats
Judging of Market Goats
Judging of County Born and Bred Goat
Judging of Goat Showmanship

1:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Judging of Market Gilts
Judging of Market Barrows
Judging of County Born and Bred Swine
Judging of Swine Showmanship
Followed by the Pee Wee Show

6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Judging of Market Steers
Judging of Breeding Cattle
Judging of County Born and Bred Cattle
Judging of Cattle Showmanship

Saturday Jan. 9
8 a.m.
Herdsman interviews

9 a.m.
Floral Design competition

10 a.m.
Jacob Jackson Master Showman
Presentation of awards immediately to follow
