Stephens County DA releases list of plea deals for October 2020
Stephens County District Attorney Dee Peavy’s office recently released the following list of plea deals that were made in the 90th Judicial District Court in October 2020:
- Quinton Homer Coleman, 24, Breckenridge, pleaded guilty to the offense of Assault Public Servant and was sentenced to four years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice – Institutional Division (TDCJ-ID), and to pay $1500fineand court costs; pleaded guilty to the offense of Assault Public Servant and was sentenced to four years confinement in TDCJ-ID, and to pay court costs; and, pleaded guilty to the offense of Assault Public Servant and was sentenced to four years confinement in TDCJ-ID, and to pay court costs.
- Dylan Tilar Goss, 26, Breckenridge, pleaded true to the allegations in the State’s Motion to Adjudicate Community Supervision for the offense of Indecency with Child by Exposure – Lesser Included Offense and was sentenced to four years confinement in TDCJ-ID, and to pay remaining fine and court costs.
- Ezekial Lynn Collins, 35, Breckenridge, pleaded true to the allegations in the State’s Motion to Adjudicate Community Supervision for the offense of Assault Family/House Member with Previous Conviction and was sentenced to three years confinement in the TDCJ-ID, and to pay remaining fine and court costs.
- Deborah Boggs Herod, 44, Breckenridge, pleaded guilty to the offense of Possession of Controlled Substance Four Grams or More but Less Than 200 Grams – Methamphetamine and was sentenced to five years community supervision, and to pay $1,000 fine, restitution, and court costs.
- Clayton Darrell Moore, 53, Breckenridge, pleaded guilty to the offense of Possession of Controlled Substance Less Than One Gram – Methamphetamine and was sentenced to five years community supervision, and to pay $500 fine, restitution, and court costs.
- Cheyenna Raye Wimberley, 29, Mineral Wells, pleaded guilty to the offense of Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver Four Grams or More but Less Than 200 Grams – Methamphetamine and was sentenced to four years community supervision, and to pay $750 fine, restitution, and court costs; and pleaded guilty to the offense of Possession of Controlled Substance One Gram or More But Less Than Four Grams – Methamphetamine – Lesser Included Offense and was sentenced to four years community supervision, and to pay restitution and court costs.
- Cheyanna Dean Gilbert, 20, Breckenridge, pleaded guilty to the offense of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to three years community supervision, and to pay $500 fine and court costs.
- Breanna Lynn Melton, 29, Breckenridge, pleaded guilty to the offense of Possession of Controlled Substance PG 2 – Four Grams or More but Less Than 400 Grams – Tetrahydrocannabinol and was sentenced to three years community supervision, and to pay $200 fine, restitution, and court costs.

As a non-profit news outlet, the Breckenridge Texan depends on donations, in addition to ad sales, to fund daily operations, including website costs, freelance writers, and basic office expenses. The organization aims to raise $4,000, which could be tripled to $12,000 through various matching programs, including the NewsMatch program and the Rural Partner Fund, which is supported by several major foundations.
Founded in 2017 by journalists Tony Pilkington and Carla McKeown, the Breckenridge Texan provides daily local news coverage, weekly newsletters, photo galleries, a community calendar, and obituaries. The outlet serves both local residents and people outside the community seeking information about Breckenridge and Stephens County, including potential new residents and businesses. They chose the non-profit structure to maintain local control of news coverage while minimizing the financial burden on the community.

The organization operates under the fiscal sponsorship of the Institute for Nonprofit News (INN), which is the name that will appear on donation billing statements.
