The staff of Ridge Nutrition gathered, along with the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce and other community members, on Monday afternoon, Oct. 26, for the ribbon cutting for the smoothie and juice bar located at 130 E. Walker St.

Kim Sewell, owner of the shop, described some of the products for sale, including the traditional smoothies and cold drinks, but also hot chocolate, hot teas and hot shakes that they are offering during the colder weather. Ridge Nutrition also has some parfaits, pies and muffins available.

Sewell said she has always been interested in nutrition and was a nurse for several years.

“When this opportunity came up, I jumped on it, and I just want everybody to be healthier as a nation,” she said. “I think a lot of our ailments originate from our diet, and so it’s really important to me to be able to provide some nutrition to everybody.”

Sewell also owns Mineral Wells Nutrition, a smoothie and juice bar in Mineral Wells.

Ridge Nutrition is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
