Wilbert Fairless, Sr., age 89, of Breckenridge, passed away Friday, October 16, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, at Morehart Mortuary with Bishop W.C. Roach officiating. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, at Morehart Mortuary.

Wilbert Lee Fairless was born June 4, 1931, in Puxico, Missouri, to parents Otis Wesley Fairless and Annie Oakley Fairless. He graduated from Troy Buchanan High School and would late marry Lola Jean Wardell in Pontiac, Michigan, on October 6, 1951. He worked as a welder and a gas lineman for Consumer Power Company in Pontiac. The Fairless’s were evangelists for 25 years, sharing God’s love for over two million miles. The Fairless’s would later move to Breckenridge in 2012 and become members of The Lighthouse Church, where they were very involved. Mr. Fairless enjoyed making hanging lamps and doing word search puzzles and will be remembered as a “jack of all trades.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Annie Fairless; his wife, Lola Jean Fairless; his son, James Lee Fairless; and one brother, Paul Eugene Fairless.

Mr. Fairless is survived by his three children, Ernest Wesley Fairless and wife Shelly of Flushing, Michigan, Wilbert Lee Fairless, Jr. and wife Allana of White Lake, Michigan, and Frances Jean Smith and husband Don of Breckenridge; one sister, Rose Marie Long and husband Ronnie of Dexter, Missouri; grandchildren, Shannon Fairless, Jason Fairless, Chad Fairless and wife Kasey, Freddie Jenkins, Chasity Jenkins, Juanita Garcia, Brian Smith and wife Cassie, Chad Smith and wife Kandie, and Lisa McCulloch; great-grandchildren, Tyler Nelson, Peyton Nelson, Tristin Jenkins, Jasmine Jenkins, Christian Jenkins, Daniella Garcia, Kayden Garcia, Sianna Garcia, Natalia Garcia, Sebastian Fairless, Kenzie Fairless, Dylan Bare, Stella Fairless, Shia Fairless, Kellen Fairless, Kaleb Fairless, Tommy Smith, Savanne, Logan Smith, Christopher Giess, and Jacob Giess; and great-great-grandchildren, Bella Nelson, Royal Jenkins, Nirvana Smith, Reagon Smith and Teddy Giess.
